CAIRNGORMS LOCAL OUTDOOR ACCESS FORUM Paper 5 - Reviewing the Forum March 27 2007 CAIRNGORMS LOCAL OUTDOOR ACCESS FORUM Title: Reviewing the Forum Prepared by: Fran Pothecary, Outdoor Access Officer Purpose To review the operation of the Cairngorms Local Outdoor Access Forum Recommendations Forum members are invited to complete the short questionnaire and return it to the Secretariat by the end of April 2007. The results will be collated and presented to the Forum as part of the final review at the next meeting in August. Background 1. The Cairngorms Local Outdoor Access Forum will have been operational for two years in April 2007. The Operating Principles indicate that a full review of the operation of the Forum will take place two years from March 2005. 2. In addition good practice guidance from Path for All Partnership and Scottish Natural Heritage recommend that there should be a critique of the activities and progress of the Forum informed by the views of the Forum members themselves, the access authority and relevant third parties. 3. At the last meeting it was suggested that the review should highlight the strengths, as well as areas for improvement, of the Forum. It was also suggested that the Park Authority feedbacks to Forum members on the use of the Forum to their work. Both these issues will be addressed in the final paper.
